xtrac excimer laser

The XTRAC Excimer Laser procedure itself is quick and straightforward. Protective eyewear will be provided. The laser will be positioned over the affected skin area and when fired, will deliver a concentrated beam of UVB light. The procedure takes anywhere from 5-15 minutes on average, depending on how many areas are treated. Treatments are relatively painless.  

Proper aftercare is important for the best results. It is advisable to keep the treated areas moisturized and protected from sun exposure. Redness and itching may occur but should be minimal. Any blistering or other side effects should be noted and discussed with the provider.   

Regular treatment visits are required to ensure the best possible result. After initiation, treatments are authorized for up to 90 days. Most patients come for treatment 2-3 times per week. Depending on the patient’s response and the nature of the skin condition, maintenance treatments might be required periodically to sustain the results.  

After 90 days of treatment, you’ll need to schedule a visit with your provider. This will allow them to assess your progress, make any necessary adjustments, and decide if more treatment is needed.
