Most patients describe brief, mild discomfort. Numbing cream is used for facial and under-eye treatments. Most sessions take about 30 to 45 minutes, including the blood draw, with extra time when numbing cream is needed.

how should i prepare for prp?

Drink plenty of water and eat a meal before your appointment, which makes the blood draw easier. Tell your provider about all medications and supplements you take, since blood thinners and some supplements can increase bruising. You will receive detailed instructions when you book.

what is recovery like after prp?

Recovery depends on the area treated. After scalp PRP, mild tenderness or a feeling of fullness usually fades within a day or two, and normal hair styling can resume after 24 hours. Under-eye PRP can cause bruising or swelling that lasts several days. When PRP is paired with microneedling or laser, expect redness and dryness for several days. Allergic reactions are extremely rare because PRP comes from your own blood.

can i keep using minoxidil or finasteride with prp?

Yes. PRP works alongside these treatments rather than replacing them. You can resume minoxidil, finasteride, and supplements such as Nutrafol or biotin 24 hours after your session unless your provider tells you otherwise.
