To maintain results, routine treatments every three to four months are recommended.

Although not required, Botox effects typically wear off within three to six months. As such, continuing treatments will maintain the aesthetic benefits. 

Botox treatments are very quick and relatively painless and can be performed on the same day as a consultation. We recommend avoiding make-up or moisturizer on the day of your appointment. Once your face is cleaned and prepped, your provider will inject the Botox into targeted muscles using a very small needle to achieve results that are improved and natural-looking. You will be asked not to lay down flat for at least 4 hours, avoid exercise or flying in an airplane for 24 hours.   

Botox is FDA-approved for forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, and platysma bands.

Temporary redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site may occur but typically resolves quickly.

Unfortunately, there are reports of patients who do not respond to Botox or who stop responding to Botox over time. This is thought to be related to the development of “neutralizing antibodies” to Botox but is still relatively poorly understood. Talk to your provider about your options if you feel that you are experiencing a non-responder effect.
