Microneedling involves inserting very fine needles across the skin, promoting collagen development and skin rejuvenation. This can improve conditions like acne scars and stretch marks, as well as improve overall skin tone and texture and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  

is microneedling painful?

The pain level varies by individual. Generally, it’s described as uncomfortable rather than painful, similar to the sensation of sandpaper on the skin. Numbing cream is applied prior to the treatment to reduce discomfort. 

what is the cost of a microneedling treatment?

Cost varies, but plan to budget a few hundred dollars per treatment. Multiple treatments (3+) are often recommended for best outcome.  

will i need multiple microneedling treatments?

While some results may be seen after one session, most patients require at least 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results. The number of sessions needed depends on the severity of the skin condition being treated and/or the patient’s aesthetic goals.  

how soon will i see the results from microneedling?

Improvements in skin appearance can start shortly after the procedure, with more noticeable results typically visible after about a month. 

how long do the effects of microneedling last?

The results of Microneedling typically last several months, and in some cases, up to a year. However, the longevity of the effects varies based on individual skin types and conditions. To maintain these benefits, periodic maintenance treatments are often recommended. 

what is the process of getting microneedling?

We recommend avoiding make-up or moisturizer on the day of your appointment. Once your face is cleaned and prepped, your provider uses a topical anesthetic to ensure your comfort during the procedure. The Microneedling device will be applied to the treatment area(s). Each session lasts 30-60 minutes on average.  

what skin problems can be improved with microneedling?

Microneedling is effective for fine lines, acne scars, sagging skin, sun damage, stretch marks, large pores, and rough skin texture. 

are there any side effects of microneedling?

Temporary redness, swelling, and skin irritation, typically subsiding within a few days post-treatment may occur. Some individuals may also experience dryness, flaking, and minor bruising in the treated area. It is very important to closely follow all post-treatment care instructions.
