Coverage can vary by insurance provider and plan. It is best to check with your insurance company to understand your coverage details. Our office can also assist in determining what services are covered under your plan once a Referral is received. It is important to note the following: 

• Some insurance plans may limit your choice of dermatologists to those within a specific network, which could affect your access to certain providers. 
• Even with a Referral, there may be additional out-of-pocket costs, depending on your insurance coverage and the treatments recommended. 

Referral processing times can vary based on insurance pre-authorizations and communication between providers. Pre-authorization involves the referring doctor providing justification for the Referral, which the insurance company must review and approve.  

The speed at which the patient provides necessary information and completes any required actions can also influence how long the Referral takes. 

Finally, appointment availability can vary, but we prioritize referred patients to ensure timely care. We will work with you to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. 

Please bring a form of photo identification, your insurance card, and any copay required by your insurance. Additionally, it may be helpful to bring any relevant medical records or test results that you have in your possession, even though we will likely receive most information from your referring physician.
