how should i prepare for my standard appointment?

To prepare for your Standard Appointment, you should:

  • Write down any specific skin concerns or questions you have. 
  • Have a list of any skin care products you are currently using. 
  • Avoid wearing makeup, nail polish, weaves or sew-ins to allow for a clear assessment of your skin, hair and nails.

In general, no treatments or invasive procedures are performed during the initial Standard Appointment. Our Standard Appointments are thoughtfully designed to give you an overarching evaluation of your dermatological health. Focused Appointments allow for in-depth assessment of a single (focused) dermatologic concern.   

how long does a standard appointment take?

The duration can vary but usually lasts about 15 minutes on average. While we strive to address your primary concerns in this session, some issues may require more focused attention than time permits. If this is the case, we will help prioritize your concerns and may recommend scheduling additional focused appointments to ensure each concern gets the detailed attention it deserves.

Yes, Revelus Dermatology offers the convenience of scheduling a Standard Appointment through telemedicine depending on the reasons for the appointment. However, for a more thorough examination and accurate assessment, such as full skin examinations, in-person visits are recommended whenever possible. Telemedicine appointments can be an excellent option for follow-ups, to talk about cosmetic treatment options or for discussing concerns before an in-person examination.
