is ipl painful?

The pain level varies by individual, but overall, it is considered minimal. Most people experience a light “snap”, like a rubber band, during treatment. There is a built-in cooling mechanism that helps minimize discomfort.  

what is the cost of an ipl treatment?

Cost varies, but plan to budget several hundred dollars per treatment. Multiple treatments (3+) spaced 4-6 weeks apart may be recommended for best outcome. Package pricing is available.  

will i need multiple ipl treatments?

While some results may be seen after each session, on average most patients require 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results. The number of sessions needed depends on the severity of the skin condition being treated and/or the patient’s aesthetic goals.  

what is the downtime after an ipl treatment?

There is little to no downtime after IPL. Patients can resume normal activities immediately. Most patients experience some mild redness or swelling for up to a week, that can look like a slight sunburn.  

how soon will i see the results from ipl?

Post-treatment, pigmented areas darken, signaling the start of the renewal process, with visible flaking off within 7-21 days and vascular improvements within 10-21 days. 

how long do the effects of ipl last?

With proper skincare and sun protection, results can last up to a year or more. We recommend maintenance sessions for prolonged effects.
